Carmack says Xbox One & PS4 are “Very Close”

Written by David Stellmack

Has not done enough benchmarking between the two

The legendary John Carmack shared some thoughts on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 during his annual QuakeCon keynote address.

While he admits that he hasn’t done enough benchmarking to be able to do a straight-up comparison between the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Carmack says they’re “very close” and that “they’re both very good.”

While it is not the down deep comparison that many of us would have liked to hear Carmack analyze blow by blow, the comments instead confirm what we already know about the two systems. We do expect Carmack at some point to provide a more detailed analysis, but it apparently will have to wait.
