Instinct, artificial intelligence first

Lisa Su has announced Vega 7nm as a machine learning "instinct part" first. AMD is quite clear that this is for machine learning first and don’t want to comment on our curiosity whether Vega 7nm can make it to the market as a gaming product soon.

TSMC lands chip orders for 12nm process

TSMC has just landed several chip orders for its 12-nanometer half-node process, a smaller version of its existing 16nm FinFET technology that will allow it to compete against Samsung and GlobalFoundries at a lower cost than its existing lineup.

The global market for industrial PCs, those typically used in automation industrial control tasks, is expected to experience short-term growth in 2016 and will begin to stabilize in 2018, according to a new analysis from IHS. The continued use of these PCs in situations outside of traditional automation tasks is cited as the reason for market growth, while robotics continues to be the fastest growing industrial sector for PCs.
